Standardization

Web Accessible Sites LLC specializes in the development and conversion of sites to meet the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards for Web development.

W3C CSS 508 XHTMLWeb sites developed in this way are designed to work well with the majority of modern browsers and with devices such as screen readers used by people with special needs. Sites built to standards are more than 50% smaller in size - load much faster -- and require much less maintenance. In addition, nonstandard devices, such as cell phones, PDAs, or Web TV will automatically be able to access your web site.

If you are looking for all of these benefits, you will want your site coded/converted to standards as many companies are doing today.

To check whether your site has been built to standards, enter the URL for your site into the validator service at W3C. The validator service will tell you whether or not your pages meet the current standards.

Seminars/Course Offerings

Training courses on developing Web sites according to standards and accessibility guidelines will be available starting in March 2007. Look for course offerings at the Whitman Center under the Lifelong Learning Program at Monroe County Community College. If you would be interested in a 2 hour seminar on "Web Accessibility, what exactly is it?", please email me.

I can offer a seminar or presentation at your place of business.
