鈥淭his recognition means a great deal to me, especially as someone who was once a first-generation college student from this region,鈥 said Dr. Martin. 鈥淭eaching at Shawnee State 鈥 particularly working with students who share similar stories 鈥 has been one of the most meaningful parts of my professional life. I鈥檓 constantly inspired by their resilience and capacity to grow, and I鈥檓 thankful to be part of a campus community that supports both our students and the work of teaching them.鈥
